Rising 4-6th graders
Acting and Reacting: This camp is for the kitchen chemists in our midst – if you like mixing and mashing to create new and interesting flavors, this is the camp for you! Rising 4th-6th graders will experiment with wild and wonderful new foods, build chemistry knowledge and kitchen know-how, and utilize local wild ingredients to create their own recipes and dishes. We’re also excited to incorporate elements of celebrity and reality television into this camp, highlighting ways that science communication can be fun, engaging, and TASTEful!
Media Release: We promote and develop our programs through news releases, flyers, our website and other social media. Photos of our programs are an important part of how we share information. We love to show off what we do here! On this form you will be asked whether you give permission for the Sitka Sound Science Center to use photos of your child in media materials.
Field Trips: Summer camps take place at the Science Center and may include walking field trips as well as trips to other locations using the Science Center van. On this form you will be asked whether you give permission for your camper to attend field trips. Please let us know about any mobility issues or other factors that mean campers' participation in field trips may be limited.
