Flukes and Flippers: Community Whale Camp

Join Sitka Sound Science Center and Sitka Conservation Society’s Alaska Way of Life 4-H Project for Flukes and Flippers Community Whale Camp, March 11th – 13th 1–4:30 pm. This three day camp will take us on a deep dive into all things whale related. SCS and SSSC staff will lead science and art activities focused on whale migration patterns and marine acoustics. Campers will also have opportunities to work with marine mammal experts on aspects of the whale skeleton rearticulation project at the University of Alaska Southeast campus. This camp will conclude with an Allen Marine cruise in search of our giant cetacean neighbors in the Sitka Sound.

This program is great for people ages 7-99+. We invite all Sitkans: families, kids 7+, and interested, fun-loving adults to join us for camp this spring break!
